Moses of course had spent forty years tending his father in lawТs sheep, and therefore would have known just how pitiful sheep without a shepherd are. Sheep, unlike most other animals are not able to survive without someone watching over and taking care of them. For that reason, God, over and over again, likens men to sheep. 1.
