In this we see that it is GodТs desire to bless his people. The word bless and its various forms appears over 500 times in the Bible and in the vast majority of cases it applies to God Сs favor toward man. How sad it is that most people when they think of God think in terms of Him somehow making their lives miserable, but nothing could be further from the truth. God is a God of blessing and His desire is to shower blessings upon man. There are three things that we want to consider as we look at this blessing. 1. General observations about the blessing. 2. The details of the blessing. 3. The way of receiving GodТs blessing. I. General Observations. a. Blessing follows atonement. b. Blessing mediated through the high priest. c. Threefold nature of blessing. Holy, holy, holy is the LORD of hostЕ The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you allЕ II. The Blessing. a. Bless and Keep. b. Make face to shine and be gracious. c. Lift up countenance and give peace. III. Receiving GodТs blessing. a. In Christ- Blessed with every spiritual blessingЕ b. In the word- Blessed is the man whoТs delight is in the law of the LordЕ c. In obedience- Blessed is the wombЕ Rather, blessed is he who keeps the word of God. d. In the pursuit of holiness- Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousnessЕ Blessed are the pure in heart. Close: My Name upon them.
