In chapters 2&3 he continues his defense. ( Leon Morris ) The Jewish opponents of the Christian way were maintaining a campaign in which a principal element seems to have been slander of Paul. If they could have succeeded in demonstrating that his conduct was dishonorable they might well have made it very difficult for his converts to hold their ground. They appear to have insinuated that Paul s concern was to make a profit out of them, like some of the wandering teachers ( of philosophy or religion ) who abounded at this time. So, too, they apparently made capital out of his failure to return, alleging that it showed him to have no real love for them. They probably suggested that there was nothing divine about Paul s message, and that it had originated in the apostle s fertile mind. Chapter 2 1. verses 1-6 Affirms purity of motive. 2. verses 7-8 Gentle, cherished as by a nursing mother. - Impart not only gospel, but our own lives also. ( Subotica ) 3. verses 9-12 Paul the model missionary, raises own support, supported by established fellowships. Exhorted, comforted, and charged as by a loving Father. 4. verse 13 The word of God effectively works in those who believe. ( Faith, difference between life and death, heaven and hell. Thief on cross.) For indeed the gospel was preached to us as well as to them; but the word which they heard did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in those who heard it. HEB 4:2 5. verses 14-16 Not alone in sufferings. 6. verses 17-20 Satanic hinderances. Chapter 3 1. verses 1-5 The sending of Timothy. 2. verses 6-10 The return of Timothy. 3. verses 11-13 Paul s prayer. Close: The enemies of Christ will always seek to undermine the truth of the gospel by accusing the people of God. Therefore, let us live in such a way that even if we were slandered, our lives would easily refute the accusations. That was Paul s testimony it is to be ours also. †œвёџвNormalE$$$ЄЄd№*$1$@& ]„^„`„$a$-DMЦ џџe568:;<7S*CJOJPJQJ@ˆphsH mH tH _HH*>*KHEHaJfHqЪ џџDAђџЁDDefault Paragraph FontdiѓџГd Table Normal.aіі4ж4ж) 0 00# $ АаАаАа/ Ар=!А"А"$02ˆŠморўц ш њ ќ ў PRTИФFHJ~žv„ˆŠŒ‚§їєюыхтмжгЭЪЧОВЌЉЃš‘Žˆ‚vsjga[XUCJCJ CJ ph CJ phCJ CJ OJPJQJCJ CJ OJPJQJCJ CJ ph CJ phCJ CJ OJPJQJCJ CJ ph CJ phCJ CJ phCJ(OJPJQJphCJ(OJPJQJCJ(CJ CJphCJ CJ ph CJ phCJ CJ phCJ CJ phCJ CJ(phCJ(!‚„ЌАВі ^`bЎАВЦШЪjlnЎАВМРтфц§њёюшхтмжгЭЧФОИЏЃš”Ž‹…|vpgda[U CJ ph CJ(phCJ CJ(CJ(OJPJQJ CJ ph CJ phCJ CJ ph CJ phCJ CJ ph CJ phCJ CJ phCJ(OJPJQJphCJ(OJPJQJ CJ ph CJ phCJ CJ ph CJ phCJ CJph CJphCJCJ CJphCJCJOJPJQJCJCJ цшъю№ђєіјњєёЌgf!fˆ568:;<79XTS*CJOJPJQJ@ˆphџRHdsHmHtH_HH*>*KHEHwhџ *ehrЪџfHqЪ џџˆ568:;<79XTS*CJOJPJQJ@ˆphџRHdsHmHtH_HH*>*KHEHwhџ *ehrЪџfHqЪ џџˆ568:;<79XTS*CJOJPJQJ@ˆphџRHdsHmHtH_HH*>*KHEHwhџ *ehrЪџfHqЪ џџCJ CJ ph CJ phјњќўЛКuК0ˆ568:;<79XTS*CJOJPJQJ@ˆphџRHdsHmHtH_HH*>*KHEHwhџ *ehrЪџfHqЪ џџˆ568:;<79XTS*CJOJPJQJ@ˆphџRHdsHmHtH_HH*>*KHEHwhџ *ehrЪџfHqЪ џџˆ568:;<79XTS*CJOJPJQJ@ˆphџRHdsHmHtH_HH*>*KHEHwhџ *ehrЪџfHqЪ џџ$2Šорќ ў RTHJŠŒВ `bАВШЪlnАњјјјјјјјјјјјјјјјјјјјјјјјјјјј$a$АВфцшъ№ђєіјњќў§§§§§§ћ§ћ§ћ§ћ§§l4ж4жl (kєџС(No ListЬўёџђЬ Free FormE$$$ЄЄd№*$1$@& ]„^„`„$a$-DMЦ џџY568:;<7S*CJOJPJQJ@ˆphsH mH H*>*KHEHfHqЪ џџ‚џџџџ ‚цј АџџUnknownџџ‚`iTimes New RomanTimes New RomanESymbolSymbolA&ArialArialaв0щ0Ў0Ю0в‰Д0 Pro W3в0щ0Ў0Ю0в‰Д0 Pro W3}Times New Roman BoldTimes New Roman Bold#ˆаh„йf„йf!€#@(0Root Entryџџџџџџџџ€>еоБ€Вц"7Ъ$€1Tableџџџџ€Вц"7Ъ€Вц"7Ъ WordDocumentџџџџ€Вц"7Ъ€Вц"7Ъ&Data џџџџџџџџџџџџ€Вц"7Ъ€Вц"7ЪўџеЭеœ.“—+,љЎDеЭеœ.“—+,љЎ|8 ( 0щ§ ўџр…ŸђљOhЋ‘+'Гй0\ (Dщ§I Thessalonians 2Brian BrodersenSummaryInformation(џџџџџџџџ€Вц"7Ъ€Вц"7ЪŒDocumentSummaryInformation8џџџџџџџџџџџџ€Вц"7Ъ€Вц"7ЪObjectPool џџџџџџџџџџџџ€Вц"7Ъ€Вц"7Ъџџџџ џџџџџџџџџџџџ€>еоБ€>еоБџџџџўџџџўџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџџ ўџџџўџџџ !"
